How are these different from foam earplugs or Loop-style plugs?
Foam plugs and lifestyle earplugs mostly lower volume. PlaneOOs® are built for pressure: a six-valve filter lets the pressure on each side of your ear equalise gradually through takeoff and landing, rather than all at once.
How are these different from other filter plugs?
All the other filter plugs use a single ceramic ball in a tube that regulates the flow of air between the inner and outer ear. They work fine but for the most extreme cases of ear discomfort they don't work. Our patented six valve design also contains the filter and works for the extreme cases too at the same cost. How many flights does a pair last?
They’re reusable — wash, dry and store them in the case between trips. If they get clogged with earwax warm them gently and then wash it out.
Are they safe and comfortable to wear the whole flight?
Yes. They’re designed to sit comfortably for the full flight, though the key moments are ascent and descent when cabin pressure shifts fastest. Pop them in before takeoff and again before the descent begins.
